We've Been Waiting for You.
If you've never been to Elko Baptist — or to any church — this page is for you.
No expectations. No performance required. Just a warm little church in Elko, Georgia that has been welcoming strangers-turned-family since 1891.
What to Expect
We know walking into a church for the first time can feel intimidating. Here's exactly what Sunday morning looks like at Elko Baptist.
Come as you are — literally.
There's no dress code here. Jeans, Sunday best, work clothes — none of that matters. What matters is that you showed up.
Arrive whenever you're ready.
Doors open before the service starts. Whether you're five minutes early or a few minutes late, we'll find you a seat and you'll feel right at home.
Authentic, acoustic worship.
Our worship is warm and genuine — guitar, mandolin, piano. A mix of beloved hymns and contemporary songs that point to Jesus.
Your kids are welcome here.
Children's Church meets at 11:30 AM — right after church announcements and worship songs — giving kids their own space to learn about God's Word together.
Real worship, real leadership.
There's a freedom to worship here — guitar, mandolin, piano, and a pastor who shows up for his people. Want to know who you'll meet on Sunday?

Things People Wonder Before They Visit
We've heard these questions before. Here are honest answers.
Do I need to be a Christian to attend?
Not at all. Come and see. Whether you're exploring faith for the first time, returning after years away, or just curious — the door is open. No strings attached.
Do I have to give money?
No. We do not pass the plate during service. Offering boxes are available if you feel led to give — but there's no expectation for guests and no one is watching or keeping score.
What denomination are you?
We strive to teach the whole Bible — all of it, faithfully. We believe the Bible is God's Word, salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, and every person who walks through our door is a person worth knowing.
Can I come alone?
Absolutely. Many of our members walked in for the first time by themselves. We'll introduce ourselves. You won't stay a stranger long.
Is the building accessible?
Yes. We have a covered wheelchair ramp entrance and an accessible restroom on site. If you have specific accessibility needs, don't hesitate to reach out ahead of your visit.
Is there parking?
Yes — free parking right on site. Plenty of space, and it's a short walk to the door.
What if I haven't been to church in years — or ever?
Then this page was written for you. Show up. We've seen God do remarkable things in people who just decided to try one Sunday.
Still have questions? We're happy to talk.
